This year, the Cvijanovich family will once again be awarding grants for the purchase of buzzers to selected high school quizbowl teams, in memory of Matt Cvijanovich. Congratulations to Maggie L. Walker Governor’s School for Government and International Studies’ A team (Richmond, Virginia) for finishing first in the 2009-10 pre-season high school quiz bowl poll. With 15 ballots received, Maggie Walker received the first place vote on 14 of them.
State College Area High School (State College, Pennsylvania) finished second and received the other first place vote. Paul M. Dorman High School’s A team (Roebuck, South Carolina), Hunter College High School (New York City, New York) and Southside High School (Greenville, South Carolina) round out the top five.
Congratulations to these teams and to all 41 teams that received votes.
