This may have been previously mentioned, but when downloading questions as a JSON and then converting to Excel files to import into Anki, some punctuation marks like apostrophes or accents translate into jumbles. We are lowering the cap to 12 teams due to a difficulty in obtaining enough staff for a full 16. This cap may be raised if we get more staffers, but this is not guaranteed. We've amended the stipulation that schools can only register one team. Schools are no longer limited in the amount of teams they bring. We hope this will encourage more teams to attend and assuage any concerns about limitations.

I think if you just post the info in the clearing house packets thread, you'll have better luck. You're not going to find a date that works for all, so you should just set a date and time (or two) and stick to it.

Also, it might take some coordinating with district bureaucracy, but I'm going to try to run a tournament in Monroe next school year to introduce some more southeastern Michigan teams to modern quiz bowl. It would theoretically be in the fall, but it's really in the hypothetical phases right now.

To prevent this discussion from becoming stagnant and ultimately fruitless, I think we should create a set of goals or plans to complete through the summer of 2018; otherwise, we run the risk of this conversation being a pipe dream.
