Re: CANONEXPANSION @ HSNCT

(I realize now I posted my previous post in the incorrect thread.) HSNCT room assignments are out now, so if you have a room you are willing to volunteer, please add it to the spreadsheet . Without 4 rooms, this event won't be able to run. Also, if you have any buzzer sets you are willing to lend me...

Re: CANONEXPANSION, an experimental science side event ('18-'19)

I added a section on the spreadsheet for buzzers a while ago, please volunteer your buzzers if you have any or otherwise we'll have to play slapbowl and I'd like to avoid that. I've decided there isn't going to be a formal mirror at NSC, but I might run an informal shootout. I'm 80%+ sure right now ...

Re: CANONEXPANSION @ HSNCT

Since we aren't allowed to use game rooms after the finals, for this side event to occur, we require at least 3 rooms to play in, so I've added a section to the spreadsheet for playing rooms. PROTEINBOWL

I wrote a 20 tossup packet on proteins, where every answerline is a protein or very, closely related to proteins. It is extremely, extremely hard, I'd say that maybe two-thirds of the questions are harder than CO difficulty. Unless some number of people have objections, I will read it in #packet in ...

Re: Why don't we have 1/1 math?

No one studies space geo (this isn't quite true, but I do agree that space geography tends to be overrepresented in the astronomy distribution), so that means you shouldn't fill the astronomy distribution with space geography. It does not mean you should completely delete the astronomy distribution.

I think many people fail to realize how big 1/1 encompasses. All of sociology, economics, anthropology, linguistics, jurisprudence, IR theory, psychology, and some other subcategories of social science I'm probably missing make up 1/1. This is an announcement for CANONEXPANSION at the 2019 HSNCT. The fee for playing will be $15/team ($10/team if you bring a buzzer set) so I can pay staffers. It will happen on Sunday evening.
