I'd posit that not only is Yogesh the best film player but is more dominant at film than any other player is at any other semi-major category. This is from long ago when Yogesh and I were teammates, but once in practice the two of us played, I think, Ray Luo's (now that's a name from way back) film...

I am not attending CO, but I am hearing secondhand that there have been a number of canceled flights via American which may result in some late arrivals or non-arrivals. Just to let you know - hopefully the appropriate people are already in touch with tournament staff.

There are potential instantiations of this tournament at side-event tournaments over the next two weekends, I believe. After that I have no problem with reading the packets on the IRC.

Regarding that "Simi Valley" TU, I was reading it (as a 15-year resident of Los Angeles) and wondering how anyone could answer it, especially since it doesn't describe where Simi Valley is in terms of the geography of LA (say, just west of the Valley). And wow, it was negged in 90% of the rooms.

I don't have much to say about the greater state of quizbowl, but as a reader there were a memorable amount of bonuses during CO proper which were quite voluminous (3-4 lines per part) and a real bear to read through; I wondered at the time whether they were insufficiently converted tossups.
