Re: 2019 Terrapin at UW [April 20]

We ended up having a very small field, so we played a format where each round each team was paired with another team against a combined team of two other teams. Thus, you'll see two entries for each round in the stats. There's also a "teammates" player that represents the points scored by the people...

Would be great to learn if some of the events listed under "Other Side Events" are happening this summer or not. With Summer Open disappointingly delayed, there's a version of a side event weekend from the "confirmed" list that wouldn't be especially exciting for me. But if most of those "other" eve...

The history was also good, although I thought there were a few issues with balance between different topics. I found there were too many tossups that focused extensively on French kings in the Middle Ages and Renaissance in this tournament; 3 strikes me as excessive. In the packets I played, I don'...

I guess I'll also mention that it's worth putting into perspective how much quizbowl already puts into fairness. Re: The ICT format is awful and unfair (or: why I now play for the "Ann Arbor Campus, University of Michigan")

I would suspect that ACF might be slightly easier to seed since the rounds lend themselves to less variable "upsets" and the distribution is less unique (so looking at every other tournament probably gives a better idea of how teams will do). But even at ACF, there's still quirks--in 2011, the #1 a...

If the results are supposed to exactly follow the seedings, then why bother to play the matches? While in...
