A post by "FairyPrince" that uses the word "gayhab" is hard to write off as garden variety troll. Agreed, the post itself is lame enough not to warrant a remark, but to argue that it didn't involve gaybashing is disingenuous at best. Your insinuation that there's a particular rea...

I'd like to add my voice to the appreciation for the job OSU/TU did at the SCT. Yes, the moderating was less than stellar on occasion, but I don't know that I've ever been to a tournament that ran as smoothly as this one did. I can't imagine that NAQT would actually have the gall to revoke OSU's aut...

I found this to be a particularly frustrating quizbowl experience, even for NAQT. As a set, the distribution might have been even, but there seemed to be considerable variability among packets (e.g., two Australia toss-ups in the same packet, one packet that apparently discarded things like mytholog...

Allegedly Vik Vaz will be doing clinical rotations in Austin and may become part of the UT team. 4. Will Frankel be back for fall and spring, o...

I think that HLA wouldn't really be correct b/c the group of genes is the MHC, while the various subtypes of molecules are called the HLA's (human leukocyte antigens). The distinction between the gene and the protein is just as true for HLA as it is for MHC, so I'm not sure if that clarifies the ma...

Would it be possible for someone to post the text of the Parkinson Disease bonus? All I remember is the first part starting out by asking something to the effect of "this is where dopamine is" and then going on to list the substantia nigra and various and sundry other basal ganglia structu...

There seems to be an incongruity between NAQT's stance that a team from a lower playoff bracket won't be chosen over a team from a higher bracket but that teams from the same bracket will not necessarily be taken in order of finish. What's the logic that makes rank order inviolable from the prelims ...
