Re: Why isn't Bollywood canon?

Directors such as Satyajit Ray are occassionally clued and asked about. As is often the case with more niche topics, Indian film content is naturally limited by a lack of exposure as well as the small space occupied by film in the distribution. There is certainly room for intrepid writers to change ...

Unfortunately there isn't much of a quizbowl circuit in Oregon. NAQT has run a high school tournament, the Portland Invitational, in the spring for the past few years. I'm not sure that there is much else. It might be worth contacting Westview's team or getting in touch with UW Quizbowl.

The registration form says "two players." Since last year's policy required "two players," I imagine that it is the actual policy. The "one player" language probably comes from last year's Regionals announcements for which any team with a single experienced player was required to write a half packet.

How will the cancellation of OCTAVIAN affect the schedule? Rather than poach an event from the second weekend, is it possible to push back the start time for NASAT? Or to have some previously run event (Math Monstrosity, Fight the Power, etc) take its place?

In an ideal world, I would prefer the original arrangement - NASAT on Saturday (8/5) with a slate of side events on Sunday(8/6). The trash tournament and the remaining side events could be played on the 18th and 19th.

Re: VCU Side Event Weekend - 8/5/2017

Much like Will and Ryan, I am dismayed by the sudden ouster of NASAT from the weekend's activities. Obviously VCU is a different entity than UVA, but, per the tournament's announcement, VCU's event is in some sense a "continuation" of UVa's previously announced tournament. It seems silly and disinge...

I'm personally in favor of running a full NASAT mirror, but, like Tommy, am intrigued with Evan's idea of running it as a TU only event. I'll second Tommy's call for a poll with the three options being - run a full NASAT mirror, run NASAT as a TU only event, and not run NASAT.

There are a few games where particular teams have either anomalously low PPB, or total bonus points ending in 5. It might be good to take a second look at these.
