Johnson Central lost their top history and science competitors in myself and Clay Davenport, and their primary math competitor in Dalton Hopper. Everyone else is returning, as far as I know.

So, I'm having complications with Piarist, so I'm not sure where I'm going to be.

I do know, however, that Piarist is relocating buildings sometime in the next year and that's supposed to cost a pretty hefty sum with construction and whatnot, so it might not leave the quizbowl team with much.

A huge obstacle to progress at this point are the league structures, which usually have a majority of teams who want nothing more than what little the leagues offer. I find it a lot easier to focus if it's a match that keeps my attention. If it's just a blowout in our favor, I stop caring, essentially, but I still try to maintain a presence in the match.

A few buzzer malfunctions early on (which I do think was Kent's jinx from the start of the day :lol: ) but they smoothed out very quickly. I really liked the tournament, as usual, and the format under which it was played. Thanks to every competitor and staffer there for a really enjoyable tournament

Gatton Academy was a quarterfinalist and Johnson Central A and Dunbar B were semifinalists at Ezell-Harding yesterday.

I think the incoming Freshmen will be an interesting factor for a lot of teams next year. We have quite a few interesting prospects and I think it will be interesting to see how their debut season pans out.
