Re: DC Metro 2018-2019 Date Claim Thread

Can someone from Hopkins confirm their mirror of ILLIAC on March 30th? UMD is planning on hosting our high school mirror of Terrapin on April 20th, but if March 30th isn't going to be used we would consider that as well.

Re: MABL, It's Ac, and the DC circuit

I totally agree. Firstly, Blair is planning on hosting a tournament next year and my current plan is to abandon the idea of doing another housewrite and maybe even make it a totally novice tournament, however that would obviously depend on whether we could get sufficient interest. I am certainly pl...

Re: Open high school teams playing collegiate tournaments

Moving on the topic at hand, I'd like to point out that this is remarkably similar to the situation that occurred last year at UCSD's mirror of Terrapin, and the community decided that a tournament can have adjustable eligibility rules, but they need to be clearly stated, so as to be fair to all. W...

Re: Open high school teams playing collegiate tournaments

Okay, so allowing open high school teams to play at easy college tournaments is certainly a bad idea; but Penn Bowl is surely not the best example of this behavior as it usually only attracts experienced college teams and some really motivated high schoolers. Your argument that high schoolers shoul...

Re: PB 2017: Specific Questions Discussion

I just want to say that for the most part, I enjoyed the history in this set, especially the tossups on "Mehmet Ali" and "Schools" in France (I'm pretty sure this one was a replacement tossup that got used in my room, but I'm not certain.) Could someone please post the tossups on "bassoons" and "Mas...

Re: NSC 2016 Set Discussion

I thought that power ran kinda late on a few questions, Pigs and Milošević being the first two that pop into my head. Also, I though that a few tossups had weird clues early, with both Japanese-Americans having ni hao and the lied tossup having Schuman early in the question. But other than that I'd ...

Re: Discuss 2016 NHBB Nationals Here

Okay, I'm just going to throw in my two cents. I did like taking only the top two teams from the morning into the upper brackets for the afternoon; it created a more intense competition for the afternoon, with better teams squaring off against each other. It was definitely much more difficult than l...

Re: DC Metro 2015-16 Date Claim Thread

Hello, Richard Montgomery would like to claim the dates of November 7th for a mirror of SCOP Novice, and April 2nd for a mirror of BISB. However, due to problems with school sponsorship, these dates are tentative, and may change, along with the packets.
