Re: 2019 NAQT Florida SCT @ Florida (02/09/19)

This tournament went swimmingly, and I believe a good time was had all around, so congrats to everyone who participated. In Division I, our overall champions were UF A (Alex Shaw, Zachary Knecht, Nabeel Farooq), while NCF A (Katia Diamond, Leo Law, David Honsinger) took both the undergraduate title ...

Re: Penn Bowl 2018 Online Mirror (12/09/18)

My teammates have all played this event already at an in-person mirror, so I'm looking for anyone who would like to play together. I'm best at history and FA, but I'll probably end up buzzing in other areas sporadically.

Re: ACF Fall @ University of Florida (11/04/18)

Hello everyone! I'm pleased to say that our mirror of ACF Fall went swimmingly and successfully. The event consisted of a 13-team round robin, leading each team to have 12 played games and a single bye, with a potential advantaged final if necessary. UF B , consisting of myself, went undefeated over...

Re: NAQT Collegiate Novice (CNS-177C) @ U. of Florida (09/22/18)

Hello everyone! This event occurred, and proceeded rather successfully, with only minor issues. We played a round robin of 9 rounds, followed by a single playoff game between teams that were paired in rankings after prelims (1st vs. 2nd, 3rd vs. 4th, etc.), after which final rankings were determined...

Re: Florida Spring Tournament (FST) Specific Question Discus

One Biblical figure with this name was, with Matthias, one of two people selected to replace Judas Iscariot as an apostle. Another Biblical figure with this name apocryphally created the Glastonbury Thorn with his staff. Yet another Biblical figure of this name pardoned a brother for the supposed t...

Re: Packets, recordings, and detailed stats warm-up survey

Buzzpoints by team, split by player EDIT: The area under a player's curve is equal to the number of tossups answered correctly. Y axis is thus in arbitrary units of points*probability. Someone should design an interactive website with custom results and graphs but that I unfortunately don't have th...

I would like to play. Hopefully at HSNCT because I won't be able to attend PACE. I already have a partner.

Re: Great Quizometrical Survey

Oh, of course. I guess I had a fundamental misunderstanding regarding how the poll would be carried out, as I was under the impression that it would be designed by regional coordinators, before being sent out by you and Kevin. Of course, I am willing to send out the ballot, and I will return my resu...

Re: Great Quizometrical Survey

Yes, that would be advisable. While certain close Alabama + Georgia teams (i.e. Dothan, Alma Bryant, Bainbridge) occasionally come down to play in tournaments in the Tally-Jacksonville corridor, save a few exceptions, the majority of Florida teams play strictly within Florida. While one couldn't exp...

Re: Florida 2016-2017

This is a recent email I shot out to many Florida QB coaches. I realize that the coaches I sent it to (as many as possible) may not be all reaching, so I am posting it here for the sake of visibility. Let it be known that in the meantime since my original sending of the email Coach Becker from Ranso...

Re: Midseason Poll

I feel a little compelled to add that American Heritage-Boca Delray, the only Florida team on the list, lost their star player Abhishek (also on the list) to Cypress Bay HS, so they are rather unlikely to make any large impact this year. On that note, Cypress Bay's proficiency is not accurately reco...

Florida 2016-2017

Any hypotheses on how this upcoming year is likely to play out? I know American Heritage has some quality teams, and I can assure that South Fork will definitely be a force similar to that of long-gone eras.
