Re: Definition of a good PPB
Well, it would depend on where you're starting from. I'm not going to tell a team who just got 10 PPB on their first ever tournament, "you can't feel good about yourself until you get to 23". At the same time, if your goal is to win a national championship this year, 23 isn't going to cut ...

Re: 2015 HSNCT discussion
It looks like IMSA had a really good day though, almost came from relative obscurity to play in the finals. I'm not sure we can say that IMSA came from "relative obscurity". IMSA had a top 20 finish in each of the last 4 HSNCTs at that point, a streak only topped by LASA. This sounds more...

Could someone fix the order in which tournaments are listed on the website? Right now, they're sorted strictly by month, rather than by the actual date, so that events in January are listed first.
Also, the icon for the Western Pennsylvania bowl is in Long Island for some reason.

If writers are going to try to emphasize this, they need to make sure not to let it get in the way of writing good, playable questions. A clue like "This philosopher, whose own sexuality helped enable his fascination with conformity and society" is quite vague. I guess it's okay for bonus ...

I will agree with Shan's comments. This set certainly wasn't perfect, but it was still a lot of fun. One thing I have to mention, though, as a PSA for anyone writing biology questions in the future: the sentence "PBS is a common wash buffer for this technique" is about as unhelpful as a cl...

What I was saying is that a lot of people (from experience with actually talking to people) don't like when answerlines are repeated (even if there are different clues used) and often rule out an answer in their head while a tossup is being read simply because it's been tossed up earlier. The way t...
