It's a very, very large textbook, but Palmer, Colton, and Kramer's "A History of the Modern World" is an excellent resource.

"The American Pageant" is also very good, as is Eric Foner's "Give Me Liberty!".

We have just taken our lunch break here. Besides an unfortunate situation in which a team entered the wrong room without anyone noticing until midway through the round, things have progressed smoothly.
