At most tournaments I've been to, the protest is lodged immediately after the question and is resolved at the end of the match, should it affect the match's outcome. Sometimes I've seen coaches try to protest questions at the end of the match, and usually those protests are sent to the TD or ignored...

Any comments on state?

I thought the questions were significantly more difficult than last year, but not too inaccessible. The first day was a little slow, but the second day went great. The readers were really good and had great knowledge of the rules. And, while we didn't win, I still had fun.

IMHO, Indian Springs is too unstable to make a run at ASCA. We beat them at Brindlee Mountain's tournament by over 100 points without our 2nd leading scorer (usually gets 40 ppg). Rivers actually makes sense there, but I seriously doubt that there would be a question on a music figure that obscure in any non-trash QB tournament. However, that would have definitely popped in my head at that time, as well.

Poetic justice is always a nice thing. Congrats to ASFA for the win and CCA for a strong second. Tournmanet was overall fairly good. There were a good number of hoses, but the questions weren't really trashy, so that's good.

I'll just clarify... I was feeling lazy yesterday. Format Issues: I've just about had it with the varying point values for tossups. All tossups should be 10 points, regardless of which period they're in. Use the pyramidal style tossups from the last round the whole way through and make them worth 10...
