Re: Vocabulary: A Brief Lesson for Teams

If you have 10-11 players, register two teams then tell the TD you are available with a standby team. That way, you might be able to get a 3rd team in for free, and if you have a player drop you don't end up having to drop a team. Or you can run a tight ship as a team and ensure that 11 players com...

Formal. No one will be off put by too-formal footwear in this context, but sneakers, flip flops, or sandals might. Generally footwear is less important than shirt/pants since your shoes will probably be under a desk or table when you're reading, but it's always better to err on the side of caution.

It should be noted that Rice was one of maybe two or three out of the 90 or so tournaments we had last year that was not a school that was also playing with up to six teams in the bowl for free. 2. Are you honestly suggesting here in saying NATIONAL twice that we shouldn’t hold regionals? To put it mildly, there are tens of thousands of people who would take issue with that. I'm going to chime in here with a related point: a given team does not have to go to all that many events to be a "good" quizbowl school. As the community has structured it, it's perfectly reasonable for a less committed school to study some, attend 4-6 local events a year, play the state ...

Due to a circle of death, Kellenberg A, Georgetown Day School, and Emmaus are playing a two-phase half-packet final. Kellenberg will play in the second phase due to scoring the most points in playoff games.
