Re: Moderator Speed (from Panasonic Thread)
I was eventually going to start a thread about this, so I'm glad it was brought up. Reading fast rewards quick recall more and knowledge less than reading slow does. Unless the question involves lateral thinking or playing against the packet, a buzz is preceded by 1. recognizing a clue and 2. associ...

I still get a little upset when I hear his name in the news.

Is 1:1:1 distribution of visual arts, music, and other arts a common practice nowadays? I guess it's a matter of personal preference, but I really don't think other arts (I'm guessing things like classical movie, photography, and jazz) should have the same distribution as more traditional art mediums.

The questions were difficult in a way was that was discouraging for me. For example, 7 tossups went dead in our game against UMD. The "authentic" way to say my name is pronouncing da / i (short i) / chi as distinct, separate sounds, without stressing any of them. Since that sounds pretty weird in normal conversation, I choose to have the middle i stressed (as in ee), but it's pretty much arbitrary, so I don't really ...

I'll go ahead and agree that Guy misses the focus. I mean, where the questions fall in the packet is trivial compared to the other problems that NAQT has. NAQT math questions are not well-written, if that means having basic pyramidality and rewarding knowledge. I don't think it's impossible, but NAQ...
