Byzantine history is way too hard for high schoolers outside of a few obvious answers. I'd say the same thing about post-Mao China: there are a couple things you could ask about, but even Deng is really pushing it as a tossup (and got poor conversion numbers last time he was tossed up, as I recall)...

I've always thought that Byzantine History is completely underrepresented.

Assuming my team does't win this round, I'd love to do this again, I still can only do the latest time slot though.

Even though I wasn't at this tournament,I must say kudos to "Central." It'll be nice to have another competitive team in the area other than the usual suspects for Michigan. 20 ppb for a team that is a relative newcomer is great.
