Postby No Electricity Required » Sun Sep 25, 2011 3:56 pm

The Macomb HS quizbowl team will be hosting our second annual Frosh-soph tournament on December 17, 2011. It will be a mirror of the Fall Novice Tournament.

Eligibility for this tournament will be restricted to Freshmen and Sophomores.

Fee Structure:
Base Fee: $50

We will use some sort of round robin prelims and rebracket into round robin playoff pools; we'll have an advantaged final if needed.

The field will probably be capped at around 16 teams; it could expand depending on interest and available staffers.

To register contact Suellyn Rieckelman at rieckelmans [at] mcusd185 DOT org.

Field (14 total):
Glenwood x2
Wilton

This tournament happened. Macomb and Mercer County had the same record in the top playoff pool. Mercer County won the one-game final. Glenwood A and Moline were third and fourth, respectively. Stats will exist within a few days.

All the stats are here: http://www.hsquizbowl.org/db/tournaments/43/

I don't really know what happened in the lower brackets in the playoffs, but there should have/may have been more games than I have knowledge of/scoresheets for. I know a lot of coaches in those brackets seemed pretty displeased that they were supposed to play more quizbowl once the prelims were done; some of them (read: most) left early.
