BAAL Kitty Hawk at Hillsdale, 12/17/11

The Bay Area Academic League and Hillsdale High School are pleased to announce the 2011 BAAL Kitty Hawk quizbowl tournament.
 
Location: This tournament will take place at Hillsdale High School in San Mateo, CA, on December 17, 2011. Registration will be at 10:00 AM.

Questions: This tournament will be a mirror of the SCOP novice tournament. There will likely be separate varsity and JV divisions, assuming sufficient demand.

Fees:

Base fee: $100 per team

Discounts:
-$25 trained moderator
-$10 scorekeeper
-$15 working buzzer
-$30 second or subsequent team from the same school
-$10 schools whose quizbowl programs are new or recently reactivated for fall 2011
-$10 payment postmarked by Monday, December 12th

Congratulations to the Harker School, which beat Hillsdale A 210-195 in the first game of an advantaged final to win the 2011 BAAL Kitty Hawk tournament! Full stats are here. Thanks to tournament director Gaius Stern, Chris Stallings, Ethan Stewart, and all of the volunteers from South San Francisco, Santa Teresa, and Menlo-Atherton.

Harker seems to have 23 negs in their game against Santa Teresa A. While I commend Stephanie Chen for negging 20 times in one game, that might be a typo.

Yeah, that's a typo. I'll fix it now.

Edit: fixed. That'll teach me to type in 2/3/20 when I mean 2/3/2.

Edit 12/19: fixed a few more bugs in the stats. They are now correct to the best of my knowledge.
