Farragut High School is pleased to announce our first ever Admiral Invitational. This event will be held at the Farragut High School in Knoxville,TN on November 18th, 2017. We will being using an introductory high school set. This tournament will be an ideal tournament for anyone wishing to begin their introduction to quizbowl, although anyone is free to come!

Details
The tournament will take place at the Farragut High School 11237 Kingston Pike, Knoxville, TN 37934.

Full stats will be kept for the tournament and will be published and sent.

For the tournament,we will be utilizing the traditional twenty timed tossups and neg format. Powers will be included. Players will be given five seconds to answer after acknowledgement, and there will be no bounce-backs. We will have a round robin before lunch, followed by a winner’s and loser’s bracket after lunch.

Awards will be handed out to top scorers and the winning teams at the end of the tournament.

Schedule
8:00 — Arrive at Farragut to register teams and buzzers
8:30 — Pre-tournament meet-up
9:00 — Round 1
9:00 - 11:15 — Rounds 1- 5
11:15-12:30 — Lunch
12:40-1:30 — Rounds 6 and 7
2:00-3:00 — Playoffs and Consolation Rounds
3:30 — Award ceremony and tournament conclusion

Lunch
The Farragut High School campus offers a whole host of restaurants and eateries for the teams to dine at, including but not limited to: McDonald's, Wendy's, Taco Bell, Dairy Queen, and other local restaurants. Water will be available at the high school.

Registration
The field will be capped at 24 teams. All teams registering after the 24 cap will be placed on a waitlist to be moved up in case of cancelations.

Fee Structure
Base Fee: $70
Subsequent Team Fee: $60
Working Buzzer Discount: $10 per system (must be useable for 4 vs 4 team structure)
Distance Discount: $5 for every 200 miles traveled (one way as determined by google maps)

We hope to give back to the community after competing for so long in bowl style competitions so we hope you can come! :party:

Great News, everybody: Admiral Invitational has officially been certified as a PACE NSC qualifier!

Great job today, Kevin and Katherine! You pulled off the challenging task of running your first tournament and finishing more or less on schedule with only a couple of real hiccups during the day. People seemed happy on their way home, and that is better than many of us who have run tournaments can often say!

I'm so excited to see students who are willing to promote the game like you both have been doing. It gives codgers like me hope for the future of this crazy thing we do.
