2018 Gopher Invitational (GINVIT) at the University of Minnesota (12/8/2018)

The University of Minnesota Quizbowl Team is proud to announce that we will be holding GINVIT 2018 (Gopher Invitational Tournament) on Saturday, December 8, 2018. The tournament will begin at 9:00 AM in Blegen Hall on the West Bank Campus where tournaments usually take place, with registration beginning at 8:30 AM, and will end in the mid- to late-afternoon (likely around 4:30 or 5 PM). We ask that everyone arrive by 8:30 AM so that we can get the tournament started promptly at 9:00 AM.

This tournament will serve as a qualifier for the 2019 HSNCT for teams that finish in the top 15% of the field. In addition, this tournament will serve as a Gold Qualifier for the 2019 PACE NSC tournament.

This will be a regular high-school-level tournament using NAQT packet IS-177. We will be playing using modified NAQT rules, with only major changes being that rounds are not timed and only twenty tossups will be read per round.

Fees
$80 per team registered
-$5 per working buzzer system
-$5 per 100 miles traveled
-$10 per moderator provided
The minimum fee per team registered is $40

We have a field cap set tentatively at 24 teams. If your team (for any reason) opts out of participating 24 hours prior to the tournament, you will still be expected to pay the tournament dues.
