Montgomery Blair Quizbowl is pleased to announce Blair Invitational, to be held on Saturday, March 16, 2019.
Set:
We will be mirroring the 2019 Collaborative Academic Spring Tournament, a regular high school difficulty set. For more information, check out the thread linked here: http://hsquizbowl.org/forums/viewtopic. ... st#p351296
Location:
The tournament will be held at Montgomery Blair High School, 51 University Blvd E Silver Spring, MD 20901.
Logistics:
Registration will begin at 8:00 AM in the 210s hallway, which can be found towards the auditorium and main office, on the second level of the building. We will hold a moderator meeting at 8:40 AM, and a team meeting at 8:45 AM. Rounds will begin at 9:00 AM.
Teams will be able to play four members at once and should consist of no more than six players.
Fees:
Base Fee: $75
Each Additional Team: $70
Minimum Fee per Team: $50
Buzzer Discount: -$5
Reader Discount: -$10
Distance Discount: -$10 per 100 miles one way
Teams may pay in cash or by check made out to Montgomery Blair High School with “It’s Academic” on the memo line.
Registration:
To register for this tournament, please fill out the following form with the number of teams, readers, and buzzer sets you plan on bringing. The form will be available up to and including Sunday, March 10.

New form entries will override previous ones until the closing of the form, after which teams should email [email protected] with changes to their registration information.
We have a hard cap of 20 teams. After the 20 team cap is met, all subsequent teams will be added to the waitlist.

This tournament is now a platinum qualifier for PACE NSC! This means that the top 25% of the teams will qualify for the NSC in Reston this June.

This tournament used Shawrisheets, an online scoresheet system, whose summary format allowed us to get prelim stats uploaded at lunch and playoff and combined stats almost immediately after the tournament ended, and allowed to us to release category stats like these. If you are interested in using Shawrisheets and you would like to use them at your local tournament, please see the following forum post: viewtopic.php?f=117&t=22518.
