Hello!
IMSA is pleased to announce the return of IMSANITY for the 2017-18 school year! IMSANITY will be available for mirrors starting January 13, 2018 and is written at around the HS nationals (PACE) level. The set will be written by members of the IMSA A team and edited by Dennis Loo, Sarah Angelo, Mike Etzkorn, and me (Pranav Sivakumar).
Set Details
The set will consist of 15 packets consisting of 20 tossups and 20 bonuses each. Tossups will be from 6-9 lines long and include powermarks. Bonus parts will be a maximum of three lines long. The distribution is as follows:
4/4 Literature (1/1 World, 1/1 American, 1/1 British, 1/1 Non-British European)
4/4 Science (1/1 Chemistry, 1/1 Biology, 1/1 Physics, 1/1 Other-emphasis on math)
4/4 History (1/1 American, 1/1 European, 1/1 (Modern) World, 1/1 Ancient/Classical)
3/3 Fine Arts (1/1 Painting, 1/1 Instrumental Music, 1/1 Other)
3/3 RMP (1/1 Religion, 1/1 Myth, 1/1 Philosophy/Social Science)
0.5/0.5 Geography
0.5/0.5 Current Events
0.5/0.5 Economics
0.5/0.5 Trash
A sample half-packet preview is provided below for prospective mirror sites and interested teams. Since the packet is condensed, it will not exactly match the (above) distribution that will be used for the actual tournament.
IMSA is planning to host the first reading of the set on January 13, 2018. More details about this tournament are forthcoming.
The mirror cost will be $10 for each team at your site. Email [email protected] for mirror requests.
