Definition of a good PPB

What range would constitute a good PPB for your average run-of-the-mill NAQT Invitational Series packet? Generally I've been told that 23 is a good mark to shoot for.

Well, it would depend on where you're starting from. I'm not going to tell a team who just got 10 PPB on their first ever tournament, "you can't feel good about yourself until you get to 23". At the same time, if your goal is to win a national championship this year, 23 isn't going to cut it.

So I guess I'd say a good PPB is anything better than what you got last time, controlling for roster changes and question difficulty.

I think it all depends on a team's definition of "good." Taking a quick glance at your team from last year, I would say 22-23 would be good, at least for your team. For other teams, less, and for national contenders, even more. Looking at last year's aPPBs from Morlan Rank, the top teams had aPPBs of around 25 or so. I think it's all relative, and each team will have a different benchmark.
