Ohio NAQT MS State Championship Tournament @ OLHS 4.25.15

Registration is now open for the Ohio NAQT MS State Championship Tournament. This year’s tournament will be held on Saturday, April 25th at Olentangy Liberty High School in Powell, Ohio. This tournament will be in the NAQT format using set NAQT MS-14, with the only modifications being that the tournament will be un-timed with matches consisting of 20 tossups with their corresponding bonuses, and computational math toss-ups will not be used. All teams in attendance are guaranteed 10 games.

Matches will take place at Olentangy Liberty High School, 3865 Home Rd. Powell, OH 43065. Parking is available on site for both vans and buses. The cost to participate is $60 for the first team and $50 for each additional team.

Registration will take place from 8 AM – 8:45 AM. We will have a short team meeting at 8:45 and play will begin promptly at 9 AM. Any teams arriving after 9 AM will forfeit their matches until they arrive. Each team will be guaranteed 5 matches in the preliminary round-robin portion of the event, and then will be reseeded in the afternoon, with the top 12 teams remaining eligible for the NAQT state championship. Teams will play an additional 3 matches in the afternoon. Teams 13-18 in the morning will play in an afternoon bracket, as will teams 19-24, and so on. We will use an advantaged final to determine the state champion.

We will be accepting up to 36 teams into the field.

Lunch will take place after round 5 of morning play. You will be contacted by a parent from the Olentangy Hyatts Team in advance of the tournament to place your pizza order. In order to ensure that we run an efficient state championship, we will serve lunch on-site, allowing us to get started with the afternoon playoffs in a timely fashion.
