Question Writing Tool (w/ QANTA)

Post by ezubaric »

We're trying to see how QANTA can help people write better questions. We've developed a tool you can play around with here:

http://aqwi-vip.umiacs.umd.edu/

(Hopefully this will be a part of a question writing competition we'll announce soon after we've done a couple rounds of debugging on this tool.)

The question can help you find phrasing that is close to what appears on Wikipedia or in previous questions. From a quiz bowl perspective, we hope that this will encourage people to write questions with unique, interesting clues. From a scientific perspective, we hope that this will encourage to write questions that are difficult for computers to answer (which will help us advance artificial intelligence).

We've had about 80 questions written (thanks!); any feedback people want to share? Is it a useful tool? Is there anything we can do to make it better?
