[REDACTED] - A Conspiracy Theory Side Event
[REDACTED] - A Conspiracy Theory Side Event
I am pleased to announce that the packets written for the guerrilla conspiracy themed side event [REDACTED] are now available on the packet archive. I have done some minor editing to remove repeats and make questions more clear, but overall the questions were fairly well written and are generally unchanged. I have repacketized the questions to balance subject matter and difficulty, but some packets will tougher than others.
Thanks to everyone who contributed to the tournament. Because of the positive reception and higher than anticipated level of participation I am considering a second side event of this kind.

It usually takes a while for them to show up after they're uploaded.CPiGuy wrote:I don't see it on the archive...

Obviously it's the Illuminati who doesn't want this set to be published.Wynaut wrote:It usually takes a while for them to show up after they're uploaded.CPiGuy wrote:I don't see it on the archive...

Once packets are uploaded, it just requires admin approval before they're made public.

These questions were at times iffy, but I had a lot of fun playing them and appreciate the efforts of the authors to shed light on some of the most important mysteries of our time.

This was pretty entertaining and hilarious! My personal favorite moment was being woned in teh face by the three-deep conspiracy tossup on "The Plan to retake D.C. from black people," which assumes you are a believer of the too deep conspiracy theory that D.C. is currently being run by black people. If I had two suggestions, it's to keep in mind some of these things aren't really conspiracy theories - like Deflategate - pretty sure that's a real thing, and to fill the set with more hilarious whimsy!

I think that everyone thought that someone would write about this so no one did.Shashmaqam wrote:wow. This set was enjoyable despite no mention of Ted Cruz
I'm glad that a mirror of this tournament was enjoyed. Part of the goal was to have some questions written as if one was a true believer of the theory instead of in a mocking tone.Ike wrote:This was pretty entertaining and hilarious! The intention was for the packets to include things that were initially thought to be conspiracies or scandals like deflategate even if they were proven.
The sequel to this event - tentiatively titled "Wake Up Sheeple" - will have an expanded scope to include pseudo-science and scandals that aren't exactly conspiracies.

This was incredibly fun to read (I especially loved the "They are who we thought they were" question). I am disappointed that there was no Timecube question.
