New Tricks Your TV Can Do - VG Packet - 12/12/18

Post by Mike Bentley »

I'm working on another videogame packet (called New Tricks Your TV Can Do) similar to the ones I produced for the last two Festivus packet readings. I'm not going to tie it into Festivus this year, so if you're interested in playing it as a shootout on the Discord please fill out the poll.

Like the previous two packets, this will skew hard, old and on dumb common links. If you're the type of person who enjoys answering questions on videogames set in the human mouth largely using clues from British home computers and Atari 2600 pack-in titles this is for you. (There's also usually a lot of Nintendo content which may be slightly more accessible.)

There will be around 40 questions and some number of speed checks. Tossups will have powers and super powers.

It will take place on Discord at 9 PM EST on Wednesday, 12/12/18.

Looks like there will be around 40 tossups and then some number (at least 20, possibly 40) speedcheck questions on stuff that was too dumb or too hard to turn into real tossups. I'll work on some sort of format and scoring rules once I finalize the packet.

I've posted this packet and the ones from the previous two years here: http://hsquizbowl.org/db/questionsets/2255/

Jason won the Discord reading. I've attached the full set of scores.
