PACE NSC 2010: Looking for Standby Teams

Post by Captain Sinico »

Hi everyone,
We just had a couple teams drop out of our field at a rather late date, so we're in need of standby teams for NSC 2010 this Saturday and Sunday. This means that you can play our tournament for free! If you're interested, please contact Fred Morlan at [email protected] as soon as possible.

Thanks,
Mike Sorice
Tournament Director, PACE NSC 2010.

Fred's e-mail to teams follows:
Hello coaches,

I am the president of the Partnership for Academic Competition Excellence, and we are running the 13th National Scholastics Championship, a national quiz bowl championship, on June 5 and 6 at George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia.

Due to a team withdrawing this evening, we have one and possibly two openings now available in the field for this event. Since this team withdrew at such a late date, we are now offering free entry to additional teams who would be willing to enter as a standby team. Standby teams enter the field on a first come, first serve basis.

An opening meeting will be held this Saturday at 8 a.m., with matches beginning at 9 a.m. and lasting until 5:30 p.m. (with a break for lunch during the day as well). On Sunday, matches will begin at 8:30 a.m., with most teams being done around lunch on Sunday.

If your team would be interested in filling one of these spots, please let us know as soon as possible by responding to this email.

Thank you very much for your time,

Fred Morlan
