LASA Fall Novice Mirror (9/11/10)

Post by Diocletian »

LASA will host a mirror of the Fall Novice Tournament on Saturday, September 11 at a location to be determined in the Austin area - a final determination on the location should be made early this week and will be communicated to participating teams in a timely fashion.

This event is intended to introduce less experienced players and teams to pyramidal quiz bowl, so players who have taken part in more than one national quiz bowl tournament (including HSAPQ NASAT, PACE NSC or NAQT HSNCT) will not be eligible to participate in this tournament.  This includes students who have played in more than one national tournament in the same school year, or in one or more of these tournaments in different years.  All other high school and middle school players and teams are welcome to attend.  There will be a separate division for middle school teams, though more experienced middle school teams will be welcome to compete in the high school division if they so choose.  Any eligibility questions for specific players or teams should be addressed to [email protected] - exceptions may be made for underclassmen who do not meet the above requirements, but those will be addressed on a case-by-case basis.

The base fee for this tournament is $60 per team, and a $10 discount is offered for each working buzzer system that a team brings up to a maximum of $20.

Please email Jason Flowers at [email protected] if you would like further information or to register your team(s).  All checks should be made payable to LASA High School.  Invoices and W9 forms can be provided upon request.

We look forward to seeing you in Austin on the 11th!

This tournament is happening. We currently have 11 teams registered in the high school division and 6 in the middle school division, and we're looking to pick up a few more by the end of the week. The tournament will be held at Harmony Science Academy in Pflugerville (just north of Austin). We'll post a stat link sometime on Saturday or early Sunday.
