I'd like to recommend to teams in the area that they not go to this. UofL already has a perfectly wonderful tournament on that day (although the field may be full) but anyone who isn't going to that would be better served staying at home than going to this. This is a :chip: tournament that will likely have a format and a lower level of question quality that will not help teams in quizbowl or even quick recall.

Edit(s): Better wording to get an important point across.

I think Kentucky is especially sensitive to issues of ethics in quizbowl, given the incident with Matt Knupp a year and a half ago. The Kentucky powers that be reacted swiftly and justly to that affair and showed that Kentucky has no tolerance for such behavior. I am confident that Kentucky as a whole will follow their lead and not head down the moral sewer that is a Chip Beall tournament (or the smaller but still disturbing issue of competing with a previously-announced tournament).

For what it is worth, the U of L tournament is on November 20, not November 10. Oops, I just saw that the date in the heading was wrong and that there is a date conflict. Sorry.

And the first post says it's November 20, which is what I'd be inclined to believe, unless they're having a tournament on a Wednesday.

I'm assuming this thing didn't happen.
Can anyone confirm?

Edited: Guess it did.

This looks like the results: "schools that are favored to make the playoffs at 2011 Nationals."

It sounds like it was just a middle school division.

Hard to tell since there doesn't seem to be a field list or staaaaats; they just replace the announcements with the results writeup.
