Hey, what do you know, three teams DID contact me this week. We're now at 30 teams and the field is now officially closed. With that said, here is the field.

Alma Bryant (AL) (1)
Alpharetta (1)
Athens Academy (1)
Brookwood (3)
Centennial (2)
Chattahoochee (1)
Duluth (1)
Eastside (1)
Grayson (2)
Marist (3)
Mountainview (2)
North Paulding (1)
Sonoraville (1)
Swainsboro (1)
Walker School (3)
Westminster (2)
Woodland (1)
Woodward (1)
North Gwinnett (2)

Coaches will receive an email with all needed information tomorrow afternoon, sometime after 3:00.
The field will be broken into 5 pools of 6. Each team will play 5 preliminary rounds, go to lunch, be rebracketed by W-L record, PPG, and then PPB, and then come back for 5 playoff rounds, with the top bracket being eligible for the championship.

Looking forward to this Saturday!

Is the Chattahoochee in your field the same Chattahoochee that competed on this set at UVA on 10/29? I know there have been inadvertent (and I suppose some on purpose, though I am not claiming that is the case here) cases of teams hearing the same question sets at different tournaments. I just wanted to point it out before someone got to the tournament this weekend.

Chattahoochee's B team will be playing the set this Saturday.

So the school administration has mandated that the event be done by 4:30 PM. That pretty much just kills any chance of having rebracketed playoffs, since I'm giving each round 40 minutes. With 30 teams, does anyone have any suggestions on what to do?

EDIT: I should clarify. By rebracketed playoffs I mean have 5 brackets of 6. Other rebrackets are open.

Congrats to Centennial for going 9-0 to become the first ever champions of the Blue Devil Academic Tournament! Athens Academy came in second, and Brookwood A came in third after defeating Marist in a consolation match.

A team didn't show up in the morning, and so we were stuck with 29 teams. After waiting way too long for them to show up (which they didn't) and deciding to get rid of the house team, we had 27 teams and ended up doing 4 brackets of 7, with the top 8 going into a single elimination playoffs. Even with this mishap, we were able to finish 10 rounds by 5.

Thanks to everyone for coming and bearing through the logistical issues. Hopefully we'll see everyone at our March tournament.

Here are the stats:

EDIT: Alpharetta only had Kunal for their last three rounds.

Same school, different kids. We sent a couple of juniors and some sophomores to hear the set, which we thought was pretty good at UVA, especially as a first effort for Norcross.

It was. I've tried to weed out all the grammar mistakes and too hard hard parts of questions.

Also, I've separated stats into prelims and playoffs. These can be found here: http://hsquizbowl.org/db/tournaments/48

Quick question: is this Eastside High School located in Georgia, Florida, or South Carolina?

NOTE: We caught some errors in stats that were just fixed. None of these stats made any change in prelim standings, but I thought it should be known.
