The Quizbowl Resource Center

GSAC XX will take place on December 8, 2012 at Maggie L. Walker Governor's School in Richmond, VA. This tournament is being written by members of the Maggie Walker team and will be edited by Saumil Bandyopadhyay and myself. The field cap has been set to 36 teams. We have decided to make a minor change in our distribution this year.

Registration:

Please send me an e-mail at gsacdirector AT gmail DOT com with:
1. Your school
2. Number of teams/buzzers/moderators you will bring
3. Name, e-mail address, and a phone number which can be reached on the day of the tournament

Fee structure:

Per team: $60
Functional Buzzer Discount: $5
Travel Discount (200+ miles): $10
Staff Discount (please only volunteer a competent staffer): $10
Minimum fee: $40

Affiliation:
This tournament has been awarded platinum certification by the Partnership for Academic Competition Excellence (PACE), meaning that the top 25% of the field will qualify for NSC 2013.

Mirrors:
We are also looking for prospective mirror hosts of GSAC XX across the country. The set will contain 14 packets, with the last two rounds being set aside for finals. The mirror fee is $10 per team, and the set will be available from December until the end of the season. The field is now full. Additional registrations will be put on the wait list, and they will be added to the field if the field expands or if a space in the field opens.

Just to let you know, there's a good chance that RM is regrettably going to have to drop from this tournament. We'll have a better idea by the end of the week - if you need an answer before then, we'll try to rush the process.

With one team dropping from the field, there is still a slot left in this tournament.

What name should appear on the check for this tournament? Is it ok to bring the check on the day of the tournament? If not, may I have the address for mailing?
