LIST IV is looking for mirrors!

The fourth iteration of the Ladue Invitational Spring Tournament is looking for mirrors nationwide! It will be written by the Ladue team, and head-edited by Jialin Ding and myself (Ben Zhang). We will offer 15 packets for the low price of $10 per team attending! The set will be available for mirrors beginning on January 4, 2014, and we're open to any mirrors after that for the duration of the school year (and into summer, if there is sufficient interest). In 2013, the LIST III set was one of only four sets to be rated "Exemplary" by PACE's Question Set Certification Program (and one of only two sets produced by high school teams to be so certified), and we will be seeking similar approval this year if possible.

The details of last year's set can be found here and the set itself can be downloaded here.

SET DETAILS:

The set will be very similar to last year in style, meaning it will be suitable for all levels of teams in attendance. Last year, this set was one of the most accessible non-novice sets, but still fairly differentiated among the nation's top teams. Tossups will be powermarked and will range from five to six lines, and bonus parts will be no longer than two lines each. Each packet will consist of 22 pyramidal tossups and 22 3-part bonuses, distributed as follows:

4 History
4 Literature
4 Science
2 Religion & Mythology
1 Math (Non-computational)
0.5 Philosophy (1 tossup or 1 bonus per round)
0.5 Social Science (1 tossup or 1 bonus per round)
1 Art
1 Music
1 Geography
1 Current Events
1 Trash (Pop Culture and Sports)
1 Extra

MIRRORING:

We would love for every circuit to have a mirror of LIST this year - last year's LIST III was run in 13 tournaments across the nation. If you want a mirror in your area, even if you don't have an exact date confirmed, let me know sooner rather than later! This tournament is currently 25% completed, well on track to being finished in the target month of September, with several months of editing time until its first mirror date of January 4. Please email [email protected] if you're interested in mirroring what should be once again the best high school set of the year!

It must be FKT and not LIST IV, since LIST IV is not supposed to be available until January according to the initial post???

The full set is not available until January 4, but since Raleigh Charter seems to have requested ten packets, we pushed production ahead for those ten packets to November 9.

Just spoke with Betsy from Raleigh Charter, and when setting up the LIST mirror, she had forgotten that she had already setup a mirror of FKT with me. They will be using the LIST set that day.

The California Cup mirror of LIST has been moved to February 1. The stats from the first few mirrors show that this is a very accessible set, so if your region doesn't have a mirror and you would like to host one, please let me know!

I participated in the Williams Tournament on January 11 (proof here: http://www.hsquizbowl.org/db/tournament ... dividuals/ )

They never emailed us the packet and I want to be able to use it to practice with my team. I emailed the tournament host and got no response back.
How would I go about getting the LIST IV packet?

Thanks,

Victor

You or your coach should hopefully be getting a copy from Sam Donow once I email him again.

After a total of 15 offsite mirrors this year, LIST IV has been retired and uploaded to the archives, pending final approval.
