THOR NOVICE TOURNAMENT @ TESORO HIGH SCHOOL (MARCH 28TH, 2015)

Tesoro Quiz Bowl is pleased to announce THOR, a novice-difficulty invitational high school tournament.

DATE/TIME: THOR will take place on November 15th, 2014. Check-in will begin at 8:00 AM, and rounds will begin at 9:00 AM.

LOCATION: THOR will take place on the campus of Tesoro High School, located at 1 Tesoro Creek Rd, Las Flores, CA 92688. Registration will take place at the food court & Matches will take place in the Humanities and Social Science Hallways. (Signs will be posted!)

FORMAT: We will be using the NAQT 135-A set for novice high school students. Round-robin matches will begin promptly at 9:00 AM and will continue till noon. After lunch, playoff matches will begin.

ELIGIBILITY: All high school students are welcome to attend.

PRICING STRUCTURE:
Base fee = $80 for one team, $70 per team after the first.
$40 for any team that has not competed in a decent, mACF-style or NAQT tournament in the past 2 years.

Discounts will be given as follows:
-$5 for each fully-functional buzzer system (must have at least four working buzzers on both sides)
-$5 for traveling distances over 50 miles, one-way, according to Google Maps (We will use the 1st result, with tolls unblocked)
-$10 moderator discount (tentative, depending on the field)

Minimum fee (does not apply to teams that have not competed for 2+ years) = $60/team

REGISTRATION: The tournament directors are Arvind Suresh & Nikhil Lal. The advisor of this tournament will be Ms. Laura Thompson. Checks must be made payable to Tesoro High School, although cash or check will be accepted at the time of registration. LUNCH: The intersection of Antonio and Oso (a 4 minute drive) has many fast food restaurants, including: Pick Up Stix, Taco Bell, Jack in the Box, Starbucks, and Wendi’s Donuts. However, since this is a long walk, we will be taking pre-orders for pizza on the day of the tournament. We will be offering cheese and pepperoni pizza for $2 dollars per slice.

Los Alamitos registered for this tournament through an email because the link to the Google form on the So Cal Quiz Bowl page didn't go through. Does the team need to register through the Google form on the original forum post, or is the team okay just by registering the way we did? Somehow Los Al didn't get put on the field list yet, and we got a confirmation email when we registered via email.
