Greater Philadelphia Quizbowl Awards, 2014-2015

We are pleased here at the Philly quizbowl blog to announce our selections for the inaugural set of Greater Philadelphia Quizbowl awards for Player of the Year, JV Player of the Year*, and Coach of the year.

-Congratulations to Ryan Bilger of Emmaus High School on winning Player of the Year for the 2014-2015 season, in recognition for his consistent high level of play in multiple subject areas and his leadership of this season’s breakout Emmaus team.
-Congratulations to Alex Schmidt of Lehigh Valley Academy on winning JV Player of the Year for the 2014-2015 season, in recognition for his several scoring titles and tournament record playing as a solo team.
-Congratulations to Missy Doll of Manheim Township High School on winning Coach of the Year for the 2014-2015 season, in recognition for her leadership of the Manheim Township program as a constant contender as well as promotion of excellent questions and league competition in the Lancaster Area.

All recipients of the GPQB awards will be awarded a plaque for their achievement. We are honored to have all these individuals as part of the Philadelphia quizbowl community and wish them continued success, both on and off the buzzer.

*Students are eligible to win the JV Player of the Year Award if they are currently enrolled in the 9th or 10th grade.
