28th annual BISB - Brookwood H.S., Snellville, GA - 11/21/15

Your school is invited to enter a team or teams in the TWENTY-EIGHTH ANNUAL BROOKWOOD INVITATIONAL SCHOLARS BOWL to be held on the campus of Brookwood High School in Snellville, GA, in the northeastern suburbs of Atlanta. The BISB is an annual competition of quiz bowl teams sponsored by the Brookwood Quiz Bowl program. 60 teams representing 34 high schools from five states participated in the November 2014 BISB.

Each team will play five preliminary matches without byes. The Tournament Director will arrange each team’s schedule of matches. After the completion of the five preliminary matches, a single elimination playoff will determine the top finishers. Most teams, if not all, can expect to participate in at least one playoff round.

Each preliminary round will consist of sixteen toss-ups with three-part bonuses. (Playoff rounds will feature twenty toss-ups and bonuses.) We will once again be using a question set written by the Georgia Tech college bowl team, as we have the two previous years.

The field will likely be capped at 60 teams again, so please register as soon as possible! Once we reach 60 teams registered, a waitlist will be kept. (It is possible that the field may expand if we procure enough moderators.)

The entry fee per team is:

--$65 per team if paid (postmarked) by Friday, October 23rd

--$75 per team after October 23rd

Just curious, how is the prelim distribution going to differ from that of the playoffs?
