PACE Coaches/Players Conference Questions Thread

Post by AKKOLADE »

Can't make it to the conference? Have laryngitis or hate public speaking? Made a bad deal with a half-octopus sea witch?

Post your questions in this thread and I'll do my best to get them worked in as we can.

He's going to be late, so probably frustrated.

I have a few questions that I think would be useful (I realize this is short notice).

It is not especially important to me for these to be asked, but I decided to post them anyways.

What do you do about players with negative and toxic attitudes toward quiz bowl?

What are the best techniques to motivate players to improve and take quiz bowl seriously?

What, if anything, can quiz bowl as a community do to try to make quiz bowl coaches better compensated for their work (both financially and in terms of recognition)?

What, if anything, can quiz bowl as a community do to get people with both experience and a passion for quiz bowl to pursue or be pursued for coaching opportunities?

I think we got the second one before I saw your post, Brendan, but the way things went I didn't get them in. Sorry :(
