Penn State Spring Academic Bowl (4/16/16)

Penn State Quiz Bowl is happy to announce our spring academic bowl for April 16th, 2016. This tournament will be taking place on NAQT's IS-154 set. We are expecting to see a field of some of the strongest squads in Pennsylvania get the chance to compete for some big wins and trophies! The initial field cap for the event will be 18 teams.

Logistics
Registration will begin at 8:00 am, the opening meeting set to begin at 8:45 am and the first round at 9:00 am. Details about where to park and directions to the tournament location on campus will be emailed to teams about a week prior to the tournament. The event will tentatively take place in the Willard Building on campus. Several excellent lunch locations are in walking distance, and directions/suggestions about where to eat will be provided to teams at the tournament.

Registration
To register, please e-mail me at [email protected]. Please include them number of teams, the number of buzzers, and the number of moderators you will have with you. I encourage all teams to bring buzzers and volunteer experienced moderators to receive discounts!

Teams may have a maximum of 6 players per registered team. You may register as many teams as you like, but if you are bringing seven players, you must have an "A" and a "B" team.

Fee Structure
$70 For first registered team
$60 For all subsequent teams
-$10 per buzzer
-$10 per moderator

The minimum fee is $40 per team. Please make checks payable to Penn State Quiz Bowl.

Final Standings

Congratulations to State College A for clearing a round-robin field to come away with first place. Our third place trophy went to State College B after half packet matches were played between the 8-3 teams. All of our competitors were exellent on the buzzer and good sports. We hope everyone had fun and look forward to seeing you back at Penn State soon!
