Loyola Ultima XVIII—Saturday, December 10, 2016

Greetings Coaches!

Loyola Academy in Wilmette, IL will be hosting the eighteenth mostly annual Loyola Ultima on December 10, 2016. This year we will once again be using the LIST (Ladue Invitational Spring Tournament) set. LIST VI will be very similar in style and difficulty to past Loyola Ultima tournaments. It is a very accessible, regular-difficulty high school set head-edited by Raj Paul and Moses Schindler from Ladue with assistance from Ethan Strombeck and Henry Roe from Auburn and Alston Boyd of the University of Chicago.

If you wish to attend, please complete the attached form

The tournament will consist of at least nine guaranteed rounds for every team at the tournament. This means that all teams will get to play every round and everyone will have a chance to play teams of equal skill levels in the afternoon rounds. We will split into two divisions as we have in the past, a Highly Competitive Division and a Standard Division. The field cap will again be at 36 total teams due to staffing limitations. This is a four-on-four tournament with a maximum of six per team.

A and B teams will be admitted to the field first, but please do indicate your interest if you want more teams. We will place them on a standby list and if the field is not full on Nov. 26, we will admit them to the field in the order they were initially signed up.

Pizza and pop will be provided to all participants and coaches.

The cost to teams will be $80 (prior to discounts) per team.

Discounts:

-$10 per experienced staffer
-$20 for travelling greater than 100 mi. (this discount is applied once per team, not once per school)
If you have extenuating circumstances of any kind, email us and we can work something out.

Once again, please use the attached form if you would like to join the field! Please make all checks payable to: LOYOLA ACADEMY and mail to: Jamie Simon, Loyola Academy, 1100 Laramie, Wilmette, IL 60091. Please contact me at [email protected] to hold your spot.

If you know of any moderators that we can contact, we are currently looking for more to add to our corps. Please feel free to forward this email to them, or send me their email address and we will get in touch with them.

We hope to see you December 10!
