Portable version of TrivaBot/quizbowl-reading bot

Post by Alejandro »

A number of people have asked for their own copy of the bot found on #scobowl to practice on it themselves or with their team on a different channel. Before, this required people to download the source, download pircbot, modify some variables, and compile the code. The formatted sets were also not available online, so they would have to get them through email.
In response to this, I've created a program that launches a copy of the bot in whatever channel or server you want. This means that you can now practice on it whenever you want without having to play other players.
The program can be downloaded here. You'll need Java to run it (which you can get from the 5th link here), and you will need an IRC client such as mIRC or Colloquy to play on it. More information on how the bot works can be found here and in the zip file.
Also, since the question sets the bot uses may contain typos or other issues, I will be posting updated sets here weekly.
If you have any questions/comments/recommendations, please tell me.
