Harding Fall Tournament 2010 (Searcy, AR)-10/9/10

Post by crobbins52 »

The Harding University Academic Team is pleased to announce that it will be hosting Harding Fall Tournament 2010, a mirror of the SCOP Novice Quizbowl Tournament, on October 9, 2010. The tournament set is produced by the Scholastic Community Outreach Program based in Illinois and will be run at several locations around the country. This tournament will take place at Harding University in Searcy, Arkansas.

Fee structure:
$40 base fee
-$5 for B teams, -$10 for C or any more teams
-$5 for each working buzzer system (max 2 discounts per team)
-$5 for every 100 miles traveled one way

The details as far as the actual building on campus where this tournament will be held will be sent out closer to the tournament, but it will likely be held in the Reynold’s building.

The tournament will be formatted in way such that teams won’t play less than seven or eight games. There will be round robins of split divisions with rebracketing and finals to determine the champion.

If you would like more information or to register your team (or if you'd like to staff...!), contact me at [email protected].

EDIT: Date, mirror, official announcement.
Changed the name of the tournament for simplicity's sake.

This tournament happened. Results can be found here http://results.scobo.net/SQBS.aspx?org= ... =standings

After a five game round robin of two divisions of six teams, the top three from each division were placed in the new "upper" division. Same with "lower." After the playoff rounds, three teams had records of 4-1. They decided not to play it off and go by points per bonus to determine the winners. Malvern A was third, Benton B was second, and Episcopal was first.

Edit: Explained format used.

Is "Episcopal" better known as St. Andrews from Jackson, MS?
