ELIGIBILITY RULES:

1. All ACF eligibility rules apply, except when they contradict the rules below. ACF eligibility rules can be found at http://acf-quizbowl.com/documents/acfrules_final.pdf beginning on page 3.
2. This is a tournament for introducing collegiate novices to quizbowl. Consequently, no high school teams or players are eligible.
3. Anyone (who does not break Rules 1 or 2) who has never played quizbowl before is automatically eligible. Other academic competition does not count as quizbowl for this rule.
4. Players meeting one or more of the following criteria must apply to the head editor for special permission to play:
i. If you have already completed your second year of college (calculated from time in college, not credits).
ii. If you were ever on a playoff team at NAQT HSNCT or PACE NSC.
iii. If you have ever scored at least 30 points per game at any college tournament.
iv. If you have ever won any college tournament.
5. Anyone who does not fall into any of the four categories listed in Rule 4 is automatically eligible to play.

LOCATION: We will meet Saturday morning in Jackson Hall in Building Z. Registration will begin at 9:00 and end at 9:45. Following morning announcements, play will begin at 10:00.

QUESTIONS: As the name of the tournament suggests, this tournament is geared specifically to collegiate novices. Thus, the questions will be very accessible and short.

FORMAT: The format will vary depending on the number of teams that register, but we will strive to offer all teams at least 7 games, and we will keep individual statistics.

RULES: We’ll follow ACF rules, which are located at http://acf-quizbowl.com/documents/acfrules_final.pdf

We encourage players to familiarize themselves with these rules prior to the event, and we will have a brief overview of the rules on the morning of the tournament.

METHOD OF PAYMENT: We will accept payment on the day of the tournament by cash or check, and we will provide receipts on site. Checks should be made payable to the “Chipola College.”

TEAM & ROSTER SIZE: There may be a maximum of six players on one team's roster, though only four may play at one time. Each player may appear on only one team's roster throughout the day—no switching from the B team to the A team, etc. Teams may also play shorthanded with as few as one players.
