As NAQT's website indicates, we will have a Div I and a Div II team at this tournament. We will probably not be bringing buzzers, as ours are not fully functional.

While people wait for stats, I have it from a staffer there that Guelph won Div. 1 and Toronto won Div. 2.

Also, thanks to Max, Eric, Rico, Bobby, and all of the staff; this was a really well-run tournament and we had a great time. I still can't believe how many close games there were...a great reminder of why quizbowl is so great.

Now that the statistics have been posted, I shall comment on this tournament.

Firstly, thanks to Rico, Max and the rest of Toronto for a smoothly-run and enjoyable tournament. The competition was fierce, but it was well-balanced, and overall a pretty good day.

However, I was less-than-impressed with the number of questions we were able to get through. Though both of our readers were very experienced and clear, one of them consistently seemed to forget that he was on the clock, allowing dialogue to go on without stopping and at the beginning of the day, reading slower than one who is being timed probably should. Despite repeated comments from multiple teams, very little seemed to improve by the end of the day. Consequently, we heard 227 tossups over our twelve matches (ten less than any other team in the DI field to begin with!), as opposed to the 259 we heard over the same number of games last year. That's a game-and-a-half worth of questions! In a field which was very competitive, and in which I felt anyone could have pulled it out, hearing the maximum number of questions is optimal. This was a somewhat frustrating experience in an otherwise excellent day of quiz bowl.

I'd also like to add my thanks on behalf of the McMaster contingent to Rico and friends for a well run tournament.

Since the stats don't appear to be posted online, do the organizers object to me uploading them to the hsquizbowl database so that anyone can see them?

No one would reject a duplicate upload of the stats, if anything they might show a little more detail than NAQT's stats do.
