I moderated for Stephen Hines's former high school team three times today at National History Bowl. There was no harassment directed their way and they seemed to be having fun.

I'll second this. The kids are having a great time around DC and competing in the whole experience.

And I do have to say I really appreciate having time taken out of my busy schedule as an NHBB coordinator this weekend to seek out and worry students and chaperones of a school for something that was a complete waste of time. I have to say I'm entirely disappointed in you, Steven, not only for the cheating but for trying to create a whole different problem not only for me, but for your former teammates and coach who are just trying to enjoy themselves. I think you owe them an apology.

Anyway, that's all I wanted to say. DV is having a great time, no harassment.

In all seriousness, what happens when this dude wants to play an ACF/NAQT/circuit tournament? There's almost no way for him to cheat at one of those, and...does anybody actually have plans to ban him?

I think a ban would be appropriate until --- at the very least --- he actually admits to what he did.

Although I wouldn't be surprised if he never tries to play anything else, given how he holds the un-"healthy family" of quiz bowl in such low esteem.
