The University of Louisiana at Lafayette is please to announce that it is hosting a Mirror of the 2014 Minnesota Undergraduate Tournament on March 22nd. This tournament is open to undergraduate students, and high school students as well (no graduate students are eligible).

Field: Capped at 14 teams, confirmed interested schools- UL-Lafayette, Louisiana Tech, Tulane, Texas A&M, Rice

Costs: The fee for each competing team will be $50. A school bringing either staff or equipment will receive a $5 discount for each. This fee will help defer the costs of the tournament, including providing lunch for all participants.

Staff and Equipment: Please let me know in advance if you are bringing staff and/or buzzers for this tournament. A discount will be provided for each.

If you have any questions, comments, concerns, or wish to register, please contact me at [email protected].

Chances are we will bring at least one team to this and I'll be happy to staff in whatever way you need me to.

Tulane beat us in round 10 to take 3rd. Rice and Texas A&M were playing a final (both had 2 losses) when we left.

Great job from Rice, especially, then. Started 5-2 through the prelims. Then, they were down 210-130 with 3 tossups to go against us in a de facto elimination game before pulling it out 220-210. Then they finished out beating Tulane and A&M in (I think?) back to back games to win it. It was definitely a fun, competitive tournament. I think the top 4 teams (which was half the field) all had a solid shot at winning, which is pretty cool/rare.

I hope stats get put up, since I don't think the ULL MFT mirror stats were ever posted. (I ended up posting some prelim stats that had gotten passed to me) My emails to Tyler are bouncing back so I can't ask him about it.

I recall that there were problems with the the ULL wi-fi, so the stats guy couldn't download SQBS. He had to use Excel instead.

Tyler, could you have Jeff send me the .xlsx file for the tournament stats?

A&M would also like a copy of the stats. Tyler, you can send it to my email, since I think its only ULL blocking my emails, and not A&M blocking yours. Thanks!

Ugh, ULL's email system has reached the new low of not even sending me notifications for this forum. Sorry for the info black hole everyone. Rice won in a playoff match with Texas A&M. I am working on inputting the stats on my end, now that I have a free day to do it. This will be occurring shortly.

Stats have now been uploaded here: http://www.hsquizbowl.org/db/tournament ... standings/

(Note: I am missing the stat sheet for Tulane A/LA Tech Round 10, will check though the mass of papers from the tournament at the University on Monday for it)

Thanks to everyone for coming down and competing. We greatly enjoyed having you all here, and we hope to see you all again soon!
