Announcement: Mavis Gallant Memorial Tournament

Post by the third garrideb » Fri Mar 07, 2014 12:09 pm

This will be a short, tossups-only literature side event, consisting of 4 rounds of 20 power-marked questions each, averaging around regular difficulty. This event will be free to play. Because this is mostly being written for my amusement, it will follow roughly the following distribution rather than the ACF standard:

35% poetry
30% long and short fiction
5% drama
15% Canadian literature
15% trash

This will be run after Waterloo's MUT mirror on Saturday, March 15. Anyone interested in mirroring can send me an email/pm or post here.

Shelby : 0/10/2
Brian : 0/8/2
Andrew : 0/5/1

This is almost certainly due to my illegible handwriting, but "Shelly" is actually Shelby from UOttawa.

Thanks for writing this Huma -- it was a lot of fun!

This was a lot of fun to play, although it would have been more fun if ADR wasn't a giant racist. Thanks for writing, Hoomz (and email packets to me, plz).

I want to echo the praise for this tournament! Lots of fun to play, and some lit types for everyone.

Congrats to Brendan and Cooper for their dominant performances, and thanks thanks thanks to Huma for writing this.
