University of Central Florida will be presenting the anti-snowbird presentation of the Ottawa Hybrid in Orlando Fl. This is for a fun warm up for VCU open, held on August 1, 2015. For your ease and comfort, we will be holding the event at Valencia West Campus (for the Florida regulars, the usual Valencia location). We plan on starting at 9:30am and being done by 6:30pm.
The fee is $80, with a $10 buzzer discount and a $10 Staffer discount, minimum fee per team is $50. Make the checks to me (Virginia Ruiz)
We want to have this be a fun tournament. It's half academic, half trash and we hope to keep it light and fun. It's a great opportunity for those who love trash to play with their friends who prefer the academic side. This event is open to all.
I look forward to seeing many of you this August. Further questions can be sent to [email protected].
There will be updates as the field develops.

Re: Ottawa Hybrid Mirror in Orlando
This has been shared in the Mitch Alday / Dren Rollins FB Summer QB thread as well.
Projected team will be me, Sean Platzer, Brian Clouse, and Peter "Gotta Catch 'Em All" Torres. Clever (but tasteful) team name to follow.

UF will be bringing 2 or 3 teams. Is it okay to pay the fees in cash? We are looking forward to this

Re: Ottawa Hybrid Mirror in Orlando
The field currently stands as:
UF- 2-3 teams
UCF- 2 teams?
Former Manatee/SCFM- 1 team?
Valencia 1-2 teams?
Old Gatorz, Old Tim, and the young one who's gotta catch 'em all- 1 team
Everyone is invited.
We need staff.
Also, yes, you can pay with Cash!
I look forward to seeing all of you soon.

Re: Ottawa Hybrid Mirror in Orlando
I'll ask Virginia to send out an update to the teams to confirm final details of who is coming to this and how many teams / buzzers / staffers, etc. to expect.
Right now, per what I know, it looks like something to the effect:
UF (2-3)
UCF (1-3)
Manatee (1-2)
Valencia (1-2)
Teams of misc people (1-2)
There will probably be a couple free agents that might end up on an existing team that's short or be spun-off to form their own squad.
We'll want to try wrapping things up at Valencia by 6ish, so we'll try to come up with a schedule that achieves this once we get final numbers on teams. I'd expect there to be 10-12 rounds played, with Round 1 starting at 9:30.
As such, plan to be at Valencia (Building 9 on West Campus --- i.e. the normal place tournaments at Valencia are held) in the 8:30-9:00 window for check-in.

Re: Ottawa Hybrid Mirror in Orlando
Quick rundown --- stats will be posted soon.
I'm going by memory here, so this is sort of unofficial:
Top 3 teams were:
1. Nacho Stats (a mixed team): me, Sean Platzer, Rob Fernandez, and Kevin Comer
2. UCF A
3. UF Blue
Top scorers:
1. Taylor Harvey (UF Blue)
2. Mickey Sizemore (UCF A)
3. Cassandra Logan (UCF B)
4. me
5. Rob Fernandez
Thanks Canadian folks for writing what seemed to be a generally enjoyable set of questions.

Re: Ottawa Hybrid Mirror in Orlando
Stats for the tournament.
Thanks again to all the teams that made their way to Orlando on a Saturday morning in August. Please come to Borglum's mirror of VCU Open on the 22nd (he's also planning on getting packets for at least one (or more) of the side events (like Tricon!)).
Also, special thanks to Virginia for putting this whole thing together nearly single-handedly. There was a bit of reacting to unannounced teams the morning of, but she made it work and we got out of there around 6-630 as planned.
And not to forget the staffers (Damion, Boris, Ian M., Harlea, and Lincoln) without whom this would not have been possible.
