Ming-Ho Yee has registered a 2nd Waterloo team. A 3rd might come if we have enough interest among the players who would not have to write a pack to play.

I will be booking rooms for this by the end of next week (23rd), so if you want to register any more teams, please try to have them in by then, otherwise I can't guarantee you a spot.

Just in case, here's a copy of the email I just sent to all the team contacts:

Hello teams!
I hope you’re all looking forward to ACF Fall on Saturday. To facilitate the smooth operation of this tournament, here is a handy FAQ so everyone knows what will be happening:

Where will the tournament be and how can we get there?
The tournament will be held in 100 Saint George Street, AKA Sidney Smith Hall, the same building we host all our tournaments in. Our control room will be room 2127. There are several parking lots around campus, the closest being the Rotman garage at 107 St. George Street. If you’re taking the TTC, you should get off at St. George station and head south. I have attached a really professional looking map of this area.

Will there be any marathons happening in Toronto the day of the tournament?
There are no marathons or other major road closures this weekend that I am aware of.

What is the approximate schedule of the tournament?
The tournament will start at 9 AM sharp, so please try to be there between 8:30-8:45 so you can get settled and also pay your fees. You should pay me before the start of the tournament in order to minimize the amount of time you spend being harassed by me, and maximize the amount of time you spend playing quizbowl. Either cash or cheque is fine to pay with.
We will be playing 11 rounds, including one bye, followed by a final (most likely). I’d like to have the whole thing wrapped up by 6 at the latest.
Seriously, be here on time.

What should we do for lunch?
We will not be providing lunch. However, this is downtown Toronto, and there are a variety of lunch options on/around campus. Walk north to Bloor Street, or south to College Street and you’ll find something to eat.

Oh no, our car broke down/we got lost/all our players have contracted tuberculosis! What should we do?
If there are any last minute problems or questions, send me a text at [REDACTED].

Okay, that’s all. Looking forward to seeing you all on Saturday for what promises to be a great tournament!

Thanks to Meghan, Rein, Rico, Aaron, Allen, Andrew, Joe, and to all the other people who volunteered their time to help this tournament run as smoothly as it did. Also another thank you for the teams who participated, as I really enjoyed playing against all of you and look forward to seeing what the upcoming year will hold.
