Hello all,
This is the official announcement for the Columbia Collegiate Novice Tournament, being run on December 5th at Columbia's Morningside Heights campus. We will be mirroring the inimitable Delta Burke tournament produced annually by Valencia College's quizbowl coach, Chris Borglum.
The criteria being used here for “novices” are all undergraduate students who have never qualified for an NAQT Intercollegiate Championship Tournament (DI or DII) or ACF Nationals. If you are a player who does not fit the bill but would like to still play the tournament (say, a 1st year graduate sctudent who has never done quizbowl before), you can email me and present your case and we will decide on an individual basis. High Schools are also welcome. No open teams will be allowed at this event.
We will be charging the following prices for our event:
-$120 base fee
-$10 for each fully functioning, 8-person buzzer system (discounts will be refused if your buzzer does not work all day)
-$10 for each staffer we use
In order to register, you HAVE to fill out this form.
Do not send any emails to register please. We will get in touch with you via email after you have registered. If you have other questions, please email [email protected].
Current Field:
Columbia (at least 2)
Yale (2)
Villanova (1)
Princeton (1)
Penn (1)
Rutgers (1)
NYU (2)
We hope to see you all here in New York in December!

Re: Columbia University Collegiate Novice Tournament
I'd like all who played this at Columbia to request entry into the private discussion forum for "Delta Burke 2015" in the User Control Panel if they'd like to offer feedback on the questions. There's one more mirror coming, and barring any late requests to use the set, I'll ask to have the discussion made public after that.
