Penn Bowl at University of Washington - 11/21/15

Post by Mike Bentley »

The Quizbowl Team at the University of Washington will be hosting a mirror of Penn Bowl on Saturday, November 21st.

In order to attract a viable field, we'll be letting unaffiliated players play this tournament. However, all open teams will need my approval to play. The general idea is to avoid superteams.

Entry fee is $25 per person. I'm willing to offer various discounts if you're traveling from far away or if it's going to be hard for you to pay this fee.

To register, e-mail me at [email protected].

There are a few games where particular teams have either anomalously low PPB, or total bonus points ending in 5. It might be good to take a second look at these.

One might normally suspect that Oregon's 4.00 ppb in the final was due to faulty statkeeping, but I can confirm that I just shit the bed that round. Also, 3/4ths of Boise's team missed the first round, which is why their ppb was so low that game. This doesn'texplain how they got 5 bonus points though.
